Before we start, let me just say that the tagline of this site is mostly tongue-in-cheek. It turns out it’s quite difficult to be rock ‘n’ roll when you’ve got a small child – who knew, eh?
Anyway. Hello! I’m Laura. I’m mum to Ted, who was born in May 2017.
Six years ago, I left a glamorous, lovely life in Sydney, Australia to return home to my slightly less glamorous hometown of Hull in East Yorkshire, UK.
I had no plan when I moved back home. Luckily, my mum and dad put me up for a while and I watched Deal Or No Deal with them every teatime and wondered where it all went wrong – or right, depending on your feelings towards Noel Edmonds.
Anyway, long story short, I built a life here in Hull: I set up my own PR and copywriting business and met a fella.
He’s called Graham Norton – no, not that one – and he plays in the North’s Premier Kings of Leon Tribute Band. He’s the bassist, which means he’s the Fake Jared Followill, if you (Follo)will, ho ho.
(You can read about how we met, if that sort of thing floats your boat, in this post – in which I explain how I read a book called Get The Guy – don’t judge – and met Graham THE VERY NEXT DAY, NO LESS.)
About Only Teethin’
I launched this site in 2018 to record bits of life as I tried to get my head around motherhood.
I’ve also got another website, where I write about freelance life and starting your own business and all that jazz – which means this site is all about parenting with a bit of lifestyle content thrown in.
I also write a monthly column for parenting site Britmums and a weekly column for my local paper, Hull Daily Mail.
I hope you enjoy reading. If you’d like to get in touch, please drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org. I’d love to hear from you.
p.s. The name of the website comes from an old Charlatans song. If you stumbled across the site hoping for a blog all about teething, or indeed teethin’, I apologise. I will make it up to you x
